Hey, all. So, Claudia is out for July, but we thought we’d go ahead and have an event anyhow. So here it is:
Baal
by Bertolt Brecht
Directed by Alec Duffy
Produced by Hoi Polloi
We’ll go on July 26.
Great theater company, great play, great time. Hoi Polloi is run by Alec Duffy, who recently appeared in Three Pianos at New York Theatre Workshop with Rick Burkhardt (of Nonsense Company) and Dave Molloy (of Banana Bag & Bodice). Last year Hoi Polloi produced Shadows (a staging of the Cassavetes film) at Collapsable Hole. And they did the awesome Suzan-Lori Parks in Gardens as part of her 365 Days/365 Plays festival.
Please just make your own reservations, and no need to rsvp on the blog. “Jack” is a new theater space just opening up in Clinton Hill, named after director Alec Duffy’s grandfather. We can hang in the space afterward and have a drink, since it’s also kind of a bar. Caveat Emptor: this is an “audience standing” event. I’ll be your host for the night, so look for me after the show – relatively tall guy with long dark hair.
Hope to see you!
Kirk
